Upgrade of ActuatorApp (SL6 and Cfg v8r03p1 porting)

As a main step for the dropping of the obsolete SL4 platform, the ActuatorApp package used by most of the ISYS slow control applications has been ported to SL6 and to Cfg v8r03p1 (dropping of Su and Db). For the purpose the following packages has been tagged on the svn archive and installed on /virgoApp:

  • CanAPI v3r9 (/virgoApp)
  • libmodbus v3r1p2 (/virgoApp)
  • libusb v0r2 (/virgoApp)
  • VISA v0r2 (/virgoApp)
  • AdvancedCommunication v5r8 (/virgoApp)
  • ActuatorDrv v5r3 ISYS (/virgoApp)
  • ActuatorSrv v4r2 ISYS (/virgoApp)
  • ActuatorApp v5r0 ISYS (/virgoApp)

Tests of this new version has been made on an offline rotator device.

The VPM configuration has been updated to point to ActuatorApp v5r0 and the host moved from olserver2/olserver4 (SL4) to olserver130 (SL6). The configuration files have been updated (do deal with the Cfg v8r03p1update) and then the following server stopped/restarted:

  • TStageApp
  • PicoAppCL
  • PicoAppOL
  • PiezoApp
  • Ipc1RotApp
  • Ipc2RotApp
  • MotorSAS_EIB

Further tests will need to be performed every time some of the ISYS actuators could be operated.

As further step in this upgrade, the Suspended Injection Bench 1 (SIB1) rotator server (Sib1Rot) is also now running using the last version of ActuatorApp. For the purpose, a newly dedicated small computer (actusb1) installed with SL6 has been put on the half rack at CB entrance (Fig. 1).
Tests have been made with an offline rotator device (Fig. 2)

As soon another small SL6 computer will be made available, the Input Beam Monitoring System (IBMS) rotator server (IbmsRot) will be also upgraded.
