NCal shift summary

During the afternoon NCal shift, we performed different NCal and acoustic noise injections:

  • With NEF and NEN facing the mirror (with a twist of 90°) and not suspended, and NNF, NNN, NSF and NSN suspended with a twist of 12°:
    • Setting the NEF, NEN, NNF, NNN, NSF and NSN rotor frequencies at respectively 20.1 Hz, 20.2 Hz, 20.3 Hz, 20.4 Hz, 20.5 Hz and 20.6 Hz, between 15:50:00 UTC and 15:59:00 UTC.
    • Setting  the rotor frequencies to 42.1 Hz, 42.2 Hz, 42.3 Hz, 42.4 Hz, 42.5 Hz, 42.6 Hz at 15:59:00 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 16:03:40 UTC).
    • Setting the rotor frequencies to 65.1 Hz, 65.2 Hz, 65.3 Hz, 65.4 Hz, 65.5 Hz, 65.6 Hz at 16:20:00 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 16:24:10 UTC).
    • Performing acoustic noise injection at 131.4 Hz near the north setup between 16:34:30 UTC and 16:37:05 UTC.
    • The ITF delocked at 16:37:05 UTC.
  • With NEF and NEN suspended with a twist of 90° and NNF, NNN, NSF and NSN suspended with a twist of 12°:
    • The ITF relocked at 18:00:00 UTC.
    • Setting the NEF, NEN, NNF, NNN, NSF and NSN rotor frequencies at respectively 20.1 Hz, 20.2 Hz, 20.3 Hz, 20.4 Hz, 20.5 Hz and 20.6 Hz, between 18:20:00 UTC and 18:34:28 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 18:21:20 UTC). During the same period, we perform acoustic noise injection at 41.4 Hz near the north setup.
    • The ITF delocked at 18:34:28 UTC
    • The ITF relocked at 19:32:00 UTC.
    • Performing the same injections (NCal + acoustic) than before the delock up to 19:50:00 UTC.
    • Setting the rotor frequencies at 35.1 Hz, 35.2 Hz, 35.3 Hz, 35.4 Hz, 35.5 Hz, 35.6 Hz at 19:50:00 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 19:53:10 UTC). Setting the acoustic noise injection at 71.4 Hz.
    • Setting the rotor frequencies at 27.1 Hz, 27.2 Hz, 27.3 Hz, 27.4 Hz, 27.5 Hz, 27.6 Hz at 20:10:00 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 20:13:45 UTC). Setting the acoustic noise injection at 55.4 Hz.
    • Setting the rotor frequencies at 42.1 Hz, 42.2 Hz, 42.3 Hz, 42.4 Hz, 42.5 Hz, 42.6 Hz at 20:28:00 UTC (all phase loops were closed at 20:31:45 UTC). Setting the acoustic noise injection at 85.4 Hz.
    • The ITF delocked at 20:37:34 UTC.
  • We leaved with all NCal suspended with a twist of 12° (East_setup_suspended_12_deg.jpg):
    • Balancing and adjusting the position of the suspended East setup within 0.2 mm.
    • Setting the NEF, NEN, NNF, NNN, NSF and NSN rotor frequencies at respectively 20.1 Hz, 20.4 Hz, 20.2 Hz, 20.5 Hz, 20.3 Hz and 20.6 Hz at 20:50:00 UTC.
    • No acoustic noise injection.
    • Turning the north NCal loudspeaker toward the tower (NCal_loudspeaker_north_toward_tower.jpg).

The 26 of Setpember at around 22:00:00 UTC the NNF NCal started having issues and the reading of the frequency was oscillating between 5 and 20 Hz (NCals_vim.png).

Today I investigated this issue and found that the pulse thresholds for NNF were not correct so I fixed the values in the config.

I restarted all the NCals at the same frequencies as before the NEF issues (NCals_fixed.png): NEF @ 20.1 Hz, NEN @ 20.4 Hz, NNF @ 20.2 Hz, NNN @ 20.5 Hz, NSF @ 20.3 Hz, NSN @ 20.6 Hz

The phase loops were closed at 9:02:45 UTC September 28
