Three new magnetic sensors were installed in the CEB today. These are three-axis Bartington magnetometers model Mag-03MC100.
They are located on the base of the towers, at beam level, with the physical axis (their "Z-axis") always pointing in the NS-Virgo direction (i.e., oriented like their Metronix big brothers inside the CEB).
The axis will be (re)named as follows:
- X --> W
- Y --> V
- Z --> N
and the name will be ENV_NI_MAG_"axis name" for the one placed on the NI tower, and in agreement for the other two: ENV_WI_MAG and ENV_BS_MAG.
The exact position is:
- ENV_NI_MAG_ is located on the N side of the NI tower, west side of the vacuum tube (serial number is 3735);
- ENV_WI_MAG_ is located on the W side of the WI tower, north side of the vacuum tube (serial number is 3732);
- ENV_BS_MAG_ is located on the N side of the BS tower, west side of the vacuum tube (serial number is 3734).
The probes are connected to the interface power supply (left on), but still need the cable to connect to the ADCs. If we can use 9 ADC channels in the TCS room, we need nine 20-meter long coaxial cables and nine BNC_2_LEMO interfaces. We left the interface power supply in AC and UNBALANCED mode.
We also plan to install two more magnetometers (ENV_INJ_MAG and ENV_DET_MAG) as soon as possible. The goal is to map the homogeneity of the magnetic field in CEB during the expected magnetic emissions.
