Using the recently installed relay boxes (see entry #48480), yesterday we performed a test on the marionettes of the end towers. After re-allocating the actuation along z on the input towers, as done in the so-called EQ mode, we switched both the marionette relays to Low Noise 2 operating mode. That is equivalent to putting 4.4 kOhm resistors in series with the coils. Figure 1 shows the expected reduction (1/20) on DARM of the marionette calibration lines. As shown in figure 2, the effects on the sensitivity is negligible as expected from the actuation noise models. This means that the detector noise in the 10-40 Hz region cannot be due to extra currents flowing in the marionette coils. Moreover, as shown in fig. 3, a sensitivity comparison between EQ Mode and standard configuration (open circuit on input marionette coils) shows a noise increase compatible with the input boards actuation noise model.
