Studies on the noise around 100 Hz
Recently the variation of the noise around 100 Hz is very evident.
It can be seen directly on the spectrograms of the dark fringe (the cyan fog that is enlarging just below 100 Hz in fig. 1).
A comparison between a noisy and a normal period is shown in fig 2. The noise is really perfectly centered around 100 Hz.

Gabriele noticed that this noise seems to be correlated with low frequency noise. Indeed in fig. 3 you can see that it follows the level of the seismic activity among 0.2 Hz and 4 Hz, which correspond to the microsesim (0.2Hz-1Hz) plus the anthropic activity (1Hz-4Hz).

The coupling path is not at all clear. No correlation were found with IPS and UPS sniffer channels.

The entry Attempt to project up-conversion noise from DET output window, and the 100Hz bump. by Irene shows that the 100 Hz bump is probably introduced by diffused light at the level the detection output window (or the tower walls). This is consistent with the fact that the bump is broader in case of high microseism. It looks like something shakes the tower at 100Hz. Note that when the scroll pump is ON the 100Hz is higher on Em_SETODE01 (plot 3 of Irene's entry)

Any mains transformer laying on the tower's base?
