Yesterday morning/afternoon we continued the activity started on Friday by moving the NI TCS actuators in TY.
STEP | Time (UTC) | Number of Steps | Direction |
1 | 7.41 | 5500 | backward |
2 | 7.58 | 5500 | backward |
3 | 9.03 | 2700 | forward |
4 | 12.30 | 2700 | forward |
5 | 13.20 | 2700 | forward |
6 | 14.17 | 2700 | backward |
A schematic view of all steps performed on the NI is shown in fig.1.
Looking at the sidebands and at the dark fringe shape, the best position seems step 4 (see fig.2-3).
After this activity, we proceeded with an initial tuning of the CH powers. We explored few CH settings (see fig.4) and, finally, we stopped at:
P_CH_WI = 100 mW P_CH_NI = 172 mW
in agreement with figure 2 in the entry #53435.
An issue with the rotator of the NI CH forced us to inject high power on the CP, and the B4 behavior suggested the possibility of further improving the working point (red circle in fig.4).
We then handed off the shift to the ISC team (at around 9 LT), who managed to reach CARM NULL (53446).
A comparison between pre- and post- TCS strategy change can be observed in fig. 5.
