Green beam on SQB1 and SQB2
Today we sent the beam from EQB1 to SQB2 (with SQB1 and SQB2 in air) and we did a rough alignment in order to have the green beam centered on the mirrors of SQB2.
First we balanced SQB1 bench to its nominal positions (entry 51559) adding 4 small masses at the 4 corners (in attached pictures) and then we moved the last mirror on the green on EQB1 to center it on SQB1 mirrors.
Then we engaged the angular local controls. We sent the beam to SQB2 moving the mirror SQB1_GM11 with its picomotors. We were able to see the beam clipping on the baffle inside the linking tube so it gave us a first idea on how to align the beam. Then we were checking its shape after the tube on SQB2 and then centering it on the mirror SQB2_M2 and SQB2_M1, the 6 inches mirrors.
The beam is going inside the linking tube between SQB2 and the filter cavity and we were able to see some diffused light, probably coming from one baffle inside this tube.
The bench was 7 mm too high, so we put two symmetric masses in the center (see picture) to lower the bench.
After the adjustment of the optical layout of SQB2, we balanced TX, TZ and Y and we closed local angular loops.
Now the two benches are in air and controlled for the angular degrees of freedom.
