Seismic survey in the North tunnel for the future FDS filter cavity

In order to make a seismic survey of the tunnel North for the future installation of the FDS filter cavity, today we placed a Trilium seismometer around 50 m far from the BS tower. In particular, we placed it on the floor in correspondence of a pillar. A portable data aquisition system is used to acquire and store data. A GPS antenna is connected to the same system and carried out of the tunnel to synchronized data. Data acquisition started at 17:30 LC. Tomorrow we will install a second Trillium seismometer in a different position along the tunnel beam.

Today we installed a second seismometer in the middle of the "supporting beam" around 50 m. Measurement started at 10:45 LC.

Today, between 10:45 and 10:53 LC, we moved one seismometer form the "supporting beam" to the "carried beam".

Today, betweeen 11:30 and 12:15 LC we installed the seismometers around 350 m from the BS: we placed a sensor in correspondence of a pillar and a sensor in the middle of the "supporting beam". We installed a second GPS antenna outside the tunnel and we checkes that everything is working. On Monday we will start to acquire data.

Today, we moved one seismometer from the "supporting beam" to the "carried beam" (both around 350 m from BS). Measurment started at 15.30 LC

Today, between 14:28 and 15:58 LC, we brought a battery to 50m from BS, moved one sismometer on "carried beam" to 50m from BS, left the other one (where it was) on "carried beam" @350m from BS.

Measurment started at 15:05 LC.
